As of January 1st 2013, an $800.00 incentive will be available to owners of mobile homes who heat their homes with electric-resistance heat and upgrade to a qualifying ductless heat pump. As per the U.S. Department of Energy (, electric resistance heat is electric baseboard heaters, electric space heaters, electric furnaces etc. The $800.00 incentive is still available for single-family homeowners as well. Ductless heat pump projects must meet the following requirements to be eligible for incentives:

-Must be inverter-driven.
-Must have a minimum five-year warranty.
-Line sets must be enclosed by a line set cover.
-Must be used to heat the main area of the homes.
-Must be installed by a contractor who has attended a manufacturer training and Northwest Ductless Heat Pump Project orientation.
-The incentive is limited to a maximum of two indoor units per outdoor unit.
